The Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) has established an emergency child care system for frontline and other essential workers who require child care during the COVID-19 state of emergency.

  • Emergency drop-in care is available for eligible families who have no back-up options for care from family, friends, or others.
  • Priority access is given to frontline workers, including health care and public safety professionals, to the emergency drop-in programs.
  • The Commonwealth is temporarily funding the operation of these programs; you will not need to pay to enroll your children.

In addition, through a partnership with EEC, Care.com is offering a free 90-day membership for Massachusetts frontline workers to connect directly with early educators who work in child care programs that are currently closed. Click here for more information.
