ALTERNATE HOUSING & RECOVERY CENTERS

Last updated

Frontline workers are working around the clock and are exposed to patients every day. Alternative accommodations help limit the risk of transmission to families of frontline workers.

Individual health care workers and first responders who are seeking accommodations should reach out to their department chief or hospital team.

The Attorney General’s Office is working with stakeholders to develop additional housing options and will continue to update this page with new information.

Alternate HOUSING

State and local agencies are collaborating with hospitals, hotels, colleges and universities, and other organizations to establish housing options for health care workers and first responders.

This list is not comprehensive; it's intended to centralize options for individuals who cannot access accommodations through their organization. It will be continually updated.

MULTIPLE LOCATIONS

Airbnb’s new program, Frontline Stays, allows hosts to open their homes to frontline workers. Hosts participating in this program have agreed to clean their spaces according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s COVID-19 cleaning guidelines.

  • This program is available to health care workers and first responders, including those who need a place to stay between shifts and those who have been exposed and need to quarantine.
  • Health care workers and first responders can book both free and paid stays, and Airbnb is waiving all fees on the first 100,000 stays booked through this program.
  • Hospitals and other first responder organizations can sign up to provide housing to their employees/members.
  • Individual health care workers and first responders can sign up for housing.
  • In addition, Frontline Stays has announced a partnership to provide housing to 1199SEIU members, who are fighting on the front lines. 1199SEIU members will receive direct access to book free stays through this program.
