Frontline Foods in partnership with World Central Kitchen, the international nonprofit relief program led by chef José Andrés, is raising funds to pay local restaurants to prepare meals for hospital workers responding to the COVID-19 crisis.

The Massachusetts Health Council has initiated a campaign to bring food to staff at community health centers, long term care facilities and YMCA childcare centers.

100% of the tax-deductible donations will go toward purchasing food from a local business, keeping restaurant staff employed, and delivering food.

Off Their Plate is an initiative founded to provide nutritious meals to hospital teams. Funds raised are directed to partner restaurants to prepare meals and equip them to meet COVID-informed food prep protocols so they may restore wages and work to their most vulnerable staff. Off Their Plate is affiliated with World Central Kitchen, a nonprofit organization founded by Chef José Andrés to use the power of food to heal and strengthen communities in times of crisis and beyond. Donations to Off Their Plate are made via World Central Kitchen and are tax deductible.

The below restaurants are accepting donations from the public and have partnered with local hospitals to provide free food to our health care workers.

Feed the Frontlines Boston


Shawn Wilson, co-founder of Viga Italian Eatery and Shed’s BBQ, launched Boston’s Feed the Frontlines initiative to provide meals to our local hospitals and first responders on the frontlines of the coronavirus pandemic and support employees. Donations cover the costs of meals, delivery, and restaurant employee wages. After all costs, any remaining balance will be placed in an Employee Fund designated for employee health care and emergency relief.

The Farmacy Cafe

The Farmacy Cafe is taking donations to provide smoothies for 500+ health care workers per week for the next 8 weeks (through June 1) or until the fight is over. A $6 donation buys 1 smoothie for a healthcare worker.

In collaboration with Rail Trail Flatbread Company, New City Microcreamery is raising funds to provide pints of ice cream for Massachusetts frontline health care workers. Customers are able to purchase a pint of ice cream for a worker by ordering online for $10 or by donating through the GoFundMe.

Beginning April 14th, Williams Restaurant will hold a gift card for donations toward meals for Heywood Hospital staff. Williams Restaurant asks that credit card donations be a minimum of $5. Donations can be accepted over the phone.

J and L Catering is now offering meals for medical support staff at Milford Regional Medical Center and will match each contribution. When ordering online, you’ll have the option to add any number of “medical meals” that you’d like to donate to the medical staff. Chef John will coordinate the delivery with the hospital and will be matching donations 1-for-1. Staff will be able to eat at work or take home after a long shift. Please place your order ahead of time.

Customers may donate bottles of kombucha with their orders at the discounted match rate of $5 each. Every time 12 bottles have been donated, Kulture Club MV will match the donation and deliver to Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Also, Kulture Club MV will deliver 2 bottles of kombucha to individuals on Martha’s Vineyard who have been diagnosed with COVID-19. for free.

Total order must be at least 12 bottles combined (ex: 10 delivered to customer, 2 donated).

Spoon and Seed will provide take and go meals feeding up to 6 people. These meals will be ready to grab at the front takeout area. Anyone can come in and grab one, two, five or ten meals, and bring them to a family in need, an elderly person, or to someone who may not be able to afford it. There will be no charge. You can order takeout or purchase anonymous care packages. You can purchase as many as you want. Spoon and Seed will make as many meals as possible.

Anna’s Taqueria is taking donations for Hero Meals for first responders. Anna's Taqueria has partnered with several local hospitals to launch a new program to provide hot meals to frontline workers. Donation options include: one meal ($10), five meals ($50), 25 meals ($250), and 100 meals ($1,000). Benefiting hospitals will rotate and currently include Massachusetts General Hospital, Mount Auburn Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Tufts Medical Center, South End Community Health Center, Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Boston Medical Center, and St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center.

Otto Portland Pizza is taking monetary donations from $5-$250 as part of its Feeding the Frontline initiative to help support health care workers. Otto Pizza is working with hospitals and health care facilities in their communities to provide nourishment to those working tirelessly on the frontline.
